In an Instagram story captioned "Me upgrading from iPhone 13 to iPhone 14", Eve Jobs shared a picture of a man proudly unwrapping a new shirt identical to the one he is wearing.
4. The European Central Bank (ECB) has hiked its key interest rates by an unprecedented 75 basis points, signalling that further rises are likely.
On Thursday afternoon, the bank - which makes monetary policy for the eurozone and the European Union - lifted the deposit rate from zero to 0.75% and the main refinancing rate was lifted to 1.25%, the highest level since 2011.
3. British retailers saw the slowest growth in sales since the end of COVID-19 lockdowns last year as shoppers tightened their belts in the face of soaring inflation.
Total like-for-like retail sales increased by 3.6% in August compared with the same month last year and online sales fell by 0.6%, their first decline since March.
