5. Authorities in New York City have confirmed the death of Bed Bath & Beyond's chief financial officer, 52-year-old Gustavo Arnal after falling from a Manhattan skyscraper known as the "Jenga" tower on Friday.
The big-box chain in the US has been facing financial trouble, recently announcing store closures and job cuts.
4. More than 560 dockworkers at the Port of Liverpool, one of Britain's largest container docks, will go on strike from Sept. 19 to Oct. 3 over pay, the Unite union said on Friday.
The planned Liverpool strike follows an eight-day walkout last month by workers at Felixstowe, Britain's largest container port.
3. Bus journeys in England will be capped at £2 from January to March next year in a bid to ease the rising cost of living.
The £60m plan could see some passengers save more than £3 per single bus ticket, according to the Department for Transport (DfT).
2. Germany has announced a €65bn (£56.2bn) package of measures to ease the threat of rising energy costs, as Europe struggles with scarce supplies after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The package, much bigger than two previous ones, will include one-off payments to the most vulnerable and tax breaks to energy-intensive businesses.
