5. Disney and Pixar's latest animated movie Lightyear has been banned from cinemas in the United Arab Emirates.
The film contains a same-sex kiss, but the UAE's Media Regulatory Office did not give a specific reason for its decision.
4. Elon Musk will speak to Twitter employees on Thursday for the first time since launching his $44bn (£36.2bn) bid for the company in April.
The multi-billionaire Tesla boss is expected to take questions from Twitter's workers at the meeting & has warned he may quit the deal if the firm fails to provide data about fake accounts on the platform.
3. More than 64,000 staff at Lloyds Bank are to receive a £1,000 one-off payment to help with the rising cost of living in the UK.
The payment - due to be made in August - comes after a campaign by the union Unite, which demonstrated at Lloyds' annual general meeting last month.
2. The UK government has published plans to override some post-Brexit trade rules for Northern Ireland by scrapping checks and challenging the role played by the EU's court in a new clash with Brussels.
Despite Ireland describing the move as a "new low" and Brussels talking of damaged trust, Britain pressed ahead with what Boris Johnson suggested were "relatively trivial" steps to improve trade and reduce bureaucracy.
1. Fears over the prospects for the UK economy have grown after it shrank again in April, with businesses feeling the impact of rising prices.
The economy contracted by 0.3% in April after it shrank by 0.1% in March, the Office for National Statistics said.
