5. The New York Times has purchased the popular word game Wordle for an undisclosed seven-figure sum.
The free and simple game was created by software engineer Josh Wardle, released last October and now boasts millions of players.
4. Sony says it will buy video game developer Bungie in a deal worth $3.6bn (£2.7bn).
The US-based company is best known for the Destiny and Halo gaming franchises.
3. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) lost £9m ($12m) in the last three months of 2021 amid the global computer chip shortage.
The UK car maker saw its retail sales fall 37.6% compared to a year earlier but despite that fall in production the company saw revenue of £4.7bn, up 22% on the previous quarter.
2. Tesco has said it will close down seven of its Jack's stores, while the remaining six branches will be converted into Tesco superstores.
The move will affect 130 jobs but Tesco said it will try and find alternative roles for the staff affected.
1. The Bank of England is poised to raise interest rates on Thursday amid growing concern over the pressure on households from high inflation in Britain’s cost of living crisis.
Financial markets suggesting a 90% chance of an increase in its key rate from 0.25% to 0.5% in response to inflation hitting levels not seen for almost 30 years.
