1. Food inflation in the UK has slowed from April's record-breaking rise - but is still up more than 15% on the year.

Research by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and Nielsen shows a 15.4% rise in food inflation in the year to May, down slightly compared with April's record-breaking increase of 15.7%.

2. Only a third of UK hospitality businesses are optimistic about their future due to high energy prices and rising food costs, industry bosses have warned.

Pubs, bars and restaurants say their energy prices have surged an average of 81% over the past year, on top of rising food and wage bills.

3. A loophole allowing retailers to give free vape samples to children is set to be closed under government plans to curb their use among young people.

A new crackdown on vape marketing would prevent the "unacceptable" targeting of children and teens, including a review into the rules around the sale of "nicotine-free" products to under-18s.

4. Parents and grandparents who work in Amazon warehouses will be able to choose to work in term-time only.

Amazon said the new contract will mean people with children to look after can take six weeks of holiday in summer and two weeks at Easter and at Christmas.

5. Apple supplier Foxconn is ramping up efforts to recruit more workers for the world's largest iPhone factory, ahead of the launch of a new model.

Foxconn says new workers at its plant in Zhengzhou, China will get bonuses of up to 3,000 yuan ($424; £343) if they stay in the job for at least 90 days and current employees who successfully refer a friend or family member will also qualify for an award, it says.
