5. Argentina's inflation rate has soared past 100% for the first time since the end of hyperinflation in the early 90s.
Inflation hit 102.5% in February, the country's statistics agency said, meaning the price of many consumer goods has more than doubled since 2022.
4. British employers agreed pay rises averaging 5.0% during the three months to the end of January, well above historic norms, and a tight labour market means pay settlements are likely to remain high.
Incomes Data Research (IDR) said the median pay rise at major British employers had risen from 4.3% in the three months to the end of October and 3.4% in the first quarter of 2022.
3. The total amount that workers can accumulate in their pension savings before paying extra tax is expected to be increased in today's Budget.
The final figure has not been confirmed, but people are expected to be able to save up to £1.8m over a lifetime, up from £1.07m currently.
2. The chancellor will promise to provide 30 hours of childcare a week to parents of one and two-year-olds, in today's "back to work" budget.
Extending the provision could form a central plank in Jeremy Hunt's pitch of helping with the cost of living and getting parents into work.
