Arc Minerals (ARCM) , a copper, cobalt and gold junior exploration company, updated investors today on progress at their Commercial Scale Demonstration plant at its Zamsort Copper-Cobalt project in Zambia.
Construction, which has been underway for the past nine months, has made significant progress.
The technical team completed the front end of the plant, comprised of two crusher units, screens, a ball mill and conveyors, in November 2018.This section has been successfully commissioned and has an initial capacity to process 10,000 tonnes a month.
Next week, the company expects to commission the back end of the plant, with initial production scheduled shortly after.
The plant is fully permitted as a renewable mining license through 2025 and is “fully funded through to initial production.” Arc Minerals has engaged in talks with a number of off-takers regarding future sales.
Executive Chairman Nick von Schirndig commented, “Since we came on board less than a year ago we have, for a relatively modest investment of under half a million dollars, now got a plant that is capable of producing copper/cobalt concentrates and generate future revenues for the group.”
