Blackbird (BIRD) , who develops and sells the patented market-leading cloud video editing platform Blackbird, announced on Wednesday that it had been selected by the US Department of State for its use as a video production platform.
The contract, awarded to Blackbird’s U.S. partner Aperture Solutions Group, is for one year with the option of multi-year extensions and valued at a six-figures each year.
As the world’s only video editing platform developed specifically for the cloud, Blackbird offers rapid speed, scalability and quality, delivering efficiently to enterprise-level organisations working with video.
The US Department of State will use Blackbird for video production -- the platform will enable the publishing of fast turnaround digital news to its social channels as well as longer form content to its own website and other online news outlets.
The production teams will also be able to instantly access videos kept in Blackbird format from the department's archive for the repurposing of content across its social and other online channels.
