London-listed Crossword Cybersecurity (AIM:CCS)  revealed on Thursday that its consulting division had received CREST accreditation for its penetration testing services.

This morning’s statement confirmed that as a CREST testing provider, the company would now hold certifications from CREST, IASME, as well as Cyber Essentials Plus.

“It is an excellent achievement that Crossword have been recognised by CREST as a credible organisation in the penetration test service marketplace,” commented Stuart Jubb, Managing Director of Crossword Consulting.

CREST is an international not-for-profit certification body providing the buying community with an indication of the quality of an organisation and the capability of their staff.

“Commercially, this will help the Company to retain existing clients and tap into a new pool of potential clients who require this accreditation to perform penetration test services,” Jubb said.

Jubb further acknowledged that via CREST, the group’s consultants would benefit from having access to “industry leading guidance, standards and opportunities to share and enhance their knowledge.”

CREST provides access to trusted organisations by having its companies adhere to an approved checklist of policies, processes and procedures directly relating to their service provision.

Commenting on the certification, Jubb noted that the company’s “credible” recognition by CREST highlighted “the high esteem” of Crossword’s consultants throughout the cyber security community.

Crossword's consultancy division offers a full range of services ranging from cyber assurance, auditing and penetration testing to third party assurance and virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO).
