Erris Resources  has revealed positive results from the drilling programme at its 100% owned Abbeytown zinc-lead-silver-copper project.

The final results revealed 15.63% zinc plus lead, and over 90 grams per tonne silver, over 4.1 metres, and 15.57% zinc and lead, 1.9% copper and 51.5 grams silver over 2 metres.

The results showed further high-grade copper occurrences, with mineralisation remaining open to the north and south.

Abbeytown is a potentially low-cost underground development, being a near-surface brownfields project in County Sligo, Ireland.

COO, Aiden Lavelle, commented, "Drilling at Abbeytown continues to deliver excellent results.” 

“Recent holes have extended the strike of mineralisation under investigation as part of this programme, with some very high-grade intersections of zinc, lead, silver and copper.”

He added “It is now planned to test the gap between the underground mine and this recent surface drilling by focused drilling from two underground drill pads to give maximum information on continuity and grade.”

The news follows the recent appointment of Mr. Anton du Plessis as new Chief Executive Officer. He has a proven track record across a range of commodities, working on transactions for a number of leading global players including Anglogold Ashanti, Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton.

The company is an exploration company focused in favourable European jurisdictions with proven mineral districts, backed by Canadian mining majors Osisko gold royalties and TSX listed Centerra gold.

The company also has gold assets in Sweden it developing, with previous drilling showing a high success rate. It currently sits at a market cap of £2.08m, despite reporting cash reserves of £2.28m in its recently released its half year results.
