London's FTSE 100 was up 0.1% at 9,547.90 in afternoon trade on Monday.
Precious metals miner Fresnillo rose to the top of the index as Citi lifted its price target on the stock to 3,000p from 2,700p.

Airlines flew higher amid hopes of a Ukraine peace deal, after the US and Ukraine said they had created an "updated and refined peace framework" to end the war with Russia following weekend talks in Geneva.

Budget airline easyJet and BA and Iberia owner IAG were both up.

The news had the opposite effect on defence firms, however, with BAE Systems, Babcock and Rolls-Royce all weaker.

Marks & Spencer was also down after the retailer said it was looking at 500 possible new sites for new and renewed food stores as it aims to double the size of its food business.

"Following the excellent performance of the new M&S Food stores opened in the last three years, M&S is now expanding the number of locations in its search for sites, including areas where there is not yet an M&S store such as Hove, Marlborough and Wallingford," it said in a statement on Sunday.
