Georgina Energy (GEX) has provided an update on preparations for the planned Hussar prospect re-entry well in EP513, following the receipt of formal quotations for key drilling and site infrastructure works.
The company said requests for quotation issued for a drilling rig, water well drilling services, and civil works have now resulted in formal proposals. These cover the supply of a suitable drilling rig and associated camp facilities, as well as preparations for access road and airstrip repairs ahead of drilling.
Meanwhile, representatives from the drilling contractor are expected to meet Georgina’s technical team within the next seven days to review the planned drilling programme and timeline for the Hussar re-entry well.
In addition, the company has received a quotation for a water well drilling rig. Establishing a reliable water source is a critical requirement for the drilling programme, supporting drilling fluid preparation, site operations, road watering and other logistical needs. A reconnaissance visit is also planned to assess the access road and airstrip works required before mobilisation.
Georgina said the contractors are expected to begin repairs to the access routes and airstrip following the site inspection. The company is also working with another mineral explorer in the district to share mobilisation and demobilisation costs for equipment and crew linked to these civil works.
Georgina’s technical consultants, Aztech Well Construction, have issued additional requests for quotation covering casing, wellheads and specialist services including electric logging, cementing, drilling fluid engineering, mudlogging and gas analysis.
The programme will evaluate two main subsalt reservoir targets - the Townsend Formation and fractured Neoproterozoic basement lithologies.
Importantly, the drilling and completion programme, along with site infrastructure and access works, will be funded by Harlequin Energy and its partners under a structured offtake funding arrangement that is non-dilutive to Georgina shareholders. Civil engineering for access and site works is expected to begin in late Q1 or Q2 2026, with drill testing targeted for Q3 2026.
Georgina Energy’s Chief Executive Officer Anthony Hamilton said: "The Company is confident in undertaking the necessary preparatory planning and civil engineering works required to enable the drill testing of this exciting prospect in Q3, 2026. With 300 km2 of areal closure, the Hussar prospect is one of the largest subsalt Helium, Hydrogen and Hydrocarbons prospects in onshore Australia."

Georgina’s update suggests the Hussar drilling programme is steadily moving from planning toward execution. With quotations now received for key equipment and services, the company appears to be progressing the logistical groundwork needed ahead of mobilisation.
Crucially, the structured offtake funding arrangement with Harlequin Energy means the preparatory works and drilling programme can move forward without dilution for Georgina shareholders. If the timeline holds, the next major catalyst for investors is likely to be the start of civil works later this year, followed by drill testing in the third quarter of 2026.
