Gfinity (GFIN) announced on Thursday it has been engaged to host the NBA 2K League European Invitational, the first-ever NBA 2K League qualifying event in Europe.
The European esports event comes after the NBA 2K League APAC Invitational was held in February this year, and will take place over two days on 13-14 December 2019 from the Gfinity Arena in London.
During the 2019 season, NBA 2K League included partners such as Anheuser-Busch, AT&T, Champion Athleticwear, Dell, Facebook, HyperX, New Era, Raynor Gaming, SCUF Gaming, Snickers, Stance, Tencent, Twitch and YouTube.
NBA 2K is one of the top-rated and top-selling NBA video game simulation series that has sold nearly 90 million units worldwide.
Gfinity shares were trading 1.32% higher at 3.85p on Thursday
The NBA 2K League European Invitational will feature 20 players from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Turkey and the U.K. competing over two days of gameplay, and participating in interviews with league representatives and team managers.
The double-elimination tournament on 14 December will be livestreamed on the NBA 2K League's Twitch and YouTube channels.
At the end of the invitational, a committee of league representatives and team managers will pick several players who will become eligible for the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft.
