MedPal AI (MPAL) , the digital health and AI company, said it has achieved a substantial improvement in dispensing efficiency at its wholly owned pharmacy subsidiary, MedPal, following recent technology infrastructure upgrades.

The company said server technology updates and upgrades have delivered a 30-fold increase in dispensing efficiency. Previously, it took an hour to process 40 prescriptions, while with the update in place the Robopharma robot is now capable of processing more than 100 prescriptions in less than five minutes.

In addition, MedPal AI said the enhanced capacity supports continued growth in pharmacy operations across National Health Service (NHS) contracts and retail services. The investment is also intended to reinforce the group’s strategy of building scalable, technology-driven healthcare delivery.

MedPal AI’s Chief Executive Officer Jason Drummond said: “This 30x improvement in dispensing efficiency demonstrates the operational leverage inherent in our pharmacy infrastructure. By investing strategically in server technology, we have dramatically enhanced our capacity to serve patients across our NHS contracts and retail pharmacy services. This upgrade positions MedPal Limited to handle significantly increased prescription volumes while maintaining the quality and reliability our customers expect.

“The technology upgrade supports the Company's broader strategy of integrating AI-powered healthcare services with regulated pharmacy operations, enabling efficient scaling across its care home and retail pharmacy divisions.”

Operational leverage matters in pharmacy, and this update suggests MedPal is trying to build it into the system rather than adding headcount as volumes rise. Going forward, the key proof points should be whether higher throughput translates into sustained growth across NHS and retail channels, while maintaining service quality as prescription volumes scale.
