Minds + Machines Group Limited (MMX), a domain registry company, has announced that its first R&D project, .luxe, is now supported by 71 registrars globally.
.Luxe is the launching point for the group’s ambition to “bring a standardized naming convention to both the World Wide Web and the fast developing blockchain universe where no standardized naming protocols currently exist.”
11 of the registrars now providing .luxe have implemented the application programming interface (API), developed specifically for MMX, allowing .luxe names to be easily and securely linked to items on the Ethereum blockchain.
Moreover, .luxe is flourishing in Asian markets. Eight new blockchain industry distribution partners from the region, including China’s largest blockchain media group, BeeNews, have joined .luxe’s initiative.
The .luxe project has also garnered recognition from the greater technology community. Inventor of the Domain Name System (DNS), Paul Mockateri said: "The prospect of integrating DNS with distributed ledger technology/ blockchain, for example what MMX is proposing in .luxe, is the first genuine piece of DNS related innovation that I have seen in the last decade that has the possibility to be truly transformative.
