Mirada (MIRA) , the TV technology provider born out of Madrid’s ‘Media City’ announced on Wednesday that it had integrated Netflix within its product, the Iris multiscreen.
Mirada will extend the value for its operators by integrating Netflix as an additional service alongside existing third-party content providers, Fox Play and HBO Go.
Specifically, its integration means any customer with an agreement with the streaming service will be able to offer their subscribers video-on-demand streaming directly using the iris platform.
Netflix, with its popular third-party content alongside its label as one of the world's leading entertainment services, is likely to attract a range of new subscribers for operators, as well as improving overall engagement time within its pay TV platform, Mirada explained.
Shares in Mirada soared 35% higher following the news.
Additionally, the AIM-listed company announced that it had already seen its first deployment through telecoms company Izzi Telecom, Mirada’s largest client in Mexico, who introduced the streaming service through its pay TV platform earlier this month.
José-Luis Vázquez, CEO of Mirada, acknowledged the potential wide scale value of the integration, commenting:
"We are thrilled to announce the integration with Netflix as we know that it will help our clients, the operators, to delight their existing customers and attract new customers by transforming their pay TV offering into a fuller entertainment hub for their users."
