OnTheMarket (OTMP) , an agent-backed firm operating OnTheMarket.com property portal, announced on Tuesday that it had signed a listing agreement with one of the UK’s leading house builders, Persimmon.
OnTheMarket will enable Persimmon to list its properties on its website as part of its efforts to broaden its portal as a property advertiser base, the company revealed.
Following the agreement, the number of listing developments across the portal has raised to 733, Helen Whiteley, Commercial Director of OnTheMarket explained.
“Persimmon is a highly successful business with wide geographic reach. It builds a broad range of properties and is committed to supporting the sustainable growth in new home construction that the country needs,” she commented.
Persimmon, the housebuilding firm with a specific focus on first-time buyers and movers, will list its residential developments on to the platform from both its consumer brands, Persimmon and Charles Church.
Persimmon offers a variety of homes crossing a range of price points in over 350 UK locations -- in 2018, the group sold a total of 16,449 new homes.
“We have watched the portal gain ground and gather momentum to become a major player in the portals market, with active backing from property professionals,” said Group Sales and Regional Managing Director of Persimmon, Mark Cook.
Mr Cook says he looks forward to a “mutually beneficial” partnership looking ahead, with the aim of finding new and motivated buyers via the additional marketing channel.
Ms Whiteley also recognised the agreement as beneficial and also explained that it would address new opportunities within the new homes market. She commented:
"Following the agreement with Barratt Developments PLC which we announced in September, this latest agreement further broadens our advertiser base and increases our relevance to active buyers in the market.”
