UK intellectual property investment group, Tekcapital plc shared with investors today that Guident Ltd, TEK’s wholly owned portfolio company, has appointed Daniel Grossman as a director.
Mr. Grossman is a veteran of the automotive industry, having served as a senior executive at several companies in the sector. Before arriving at TEK, Mr. Grossman helped create and subsequently led all operations at General Motors’ mobility division, Maven. As a VP at Zipcar, he helped elevate the brand to a global stage.
Most recently, he served as CEO of Chariot.
Chairman at Tekcapital, Dr. Clifford Gross expressed delight at Mr. Grossman’s arrival at Guident: “He is a highly experienced and successful automotive executive who understands first-hand how autonomous vehicles have the potential to help individuals and companies better achieve their transportation vehicles.”
Mr. Grossman does indeed appear to have a deep understanding of Guident’s ambitions and how to best realize them.
Guident was established by TEK to commercialise new technology to enhance the utility, safety and experience of autonomous vehicles and drones. Now, Guident has set its sights on developing software apps for controlling autonomous vehicles through artificial intelligence, for which it already has patented technology.
Mr. Grossman sees the value of this undertaking: “I believe software apps will play an increasingly important role in enabling individuals to benefit from an autonomous transportation network. I'm looking forward to contributing to the growth and success of Guident.”
