Tekcapital plc (TEK) has appointed Harald Braun as Chairman to its wholly owned portfolio company Guident Ltd.
Mr. Braun has managed leading public listed companies in the telecommunications industry as president and CEO, including Siemens Networks USA and Aviat Networks, with proven capabilities transforming and building businesses in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Africa.
He has been a prominent standards influencer and spokesman for the telecommunications industry, serving numerous executive boards including the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions, BigBand Networks, Tarana Wireless Inc., and the Advisory Board of Broadsoft (acquired by CISCO).
Commenting on his appointment Mr. Braun said "It's an exciting time to be appointed as the Chairman of Guident and to position the company as a world class innovator in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) autonomous vehicle market.”
Tekcapital, The UK intellectual property investment group, focused on creating marketplace value from university technology, established Guident to commercialise new technology to enhance the utility, safety and enjoyment of autonomous vehicles and drones.
It has exclusively licensed a U.S. Patent from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, from which it has the potential to enable the development of software apps for controlling autonomous vehicles such as cars, trucks and drones using artificial intelligence.
According to research, the autonomous vehicle market is expected to reach US $65.3 billion by 2027.
