Tekcapital (TEK) , the UK intellectual property investment group, told investors it entered into a strategic alliance with Emprende UP for providing Tekcapital’s services in Peru.
Emprende UP, is an incubator and accelerator platform of Universidad del Pacífico (UP), securing seed funding and assistance for a large number of start-up companies nationwide.
Commenting on the Strategic Alliance, Dr. Clifford M. Gross, Executive Chairman of Tekcapital, said: "We are very pleased to announce the formation of a Strategic Alliance with Emprende UP to provide technology transfer services with them throughout Perú."
Shares in Tekcapital were trading 14% higher at 7.125p a share following the announcement
Tekcapital told investors that the directors believe Perú is a “rapidly growing market” for the Company's technology investment and commercialisation services.
Javier Salinas, Director of Emprende UP, said: "Our strategic alliance with Tekcapital will change the intellectual property landscape for universities and entrepreneurs in Peru."
Tekcapital invests in new, university-developed intellectual properties and provides a range of IP investment services to make it easy for organisations to commercialise university-developed technology.
