Specialist provider of next-generation people-screening technology to the international security market, Thruvision Group (THRU) , announced on Monday a strategic contract award by the US Government's Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
AIM-listed Thruvision addresses the growing need for fast, safe and effective security and has been vetted and approved by the US Transportation Security Administration for surface transportation.
Additionally, the company has seen more than 250 units deployed across 21 global countries in the last five years, using applications from aviation security to customers and border control.
The $3.0 million contract, of which $2.9 million will be delivered in FY20, is an addition to the group’s recent success following a contract win to supply a new Asian customs agency customer granted earlier in September and valued at £0.4 million.
Commenting on the award, Colin Evans, Chief Executive, said "We are delighted to add CBP as our eighth national customs agency customer.
This award reinforces Thruvision's international standing as a first choice provider of safe and respectful people security screening technology as we continue to broaden our strategically important US Government customer base."
The company explained how interest “continues to grow” in Thruvision's Customs contraband detection solution - which screens travellers for drugs, cash and other prohibited items at international border control points.
Specifically, 2019 has seen the Group deliver units to a broad range of national government agency customers, from UK Border Force, to the Czech Republic, as well as a repeat order from Vietnam.
“Momentum has continued,'' the company highlighted, touching on their first order from the US State Department's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs which was made earlier this financial year.
