Tlou Energy . Tlou's transition from gas-to-power solutions company to gas-to-power supplier is underway.

The company, focused on providing domestic solutions to the chronic power shortages in Botswana and southern Africa, has completed drilling the first well in its most advanced gas venture, the Lesedi coal bed methane (CBM) project.

Drilling began on the first well, Lesedi 3P, about two weeks ago and the vertical production well has successfully reached a total depth of 575m. A second well, Lesedi 4P, spudded November 4th; Lesedi 4P is set to follow the same drill plans as its predecessor and has a target depth of 580m.

Lesedi 3P and 4P are part of Tlou’s overall drilling program, in which the company will use 3P and 4P as “dual lateral pods” which comprise a single vertical production well intersected by two lateral wells.

Production testing will then take place to, Tlou hopes, convert a large portion of the established gas resources to reserves to then deliver the gas to a central processing facility and local power station.
