Totally plc (TLY ), a provider of frontline healthcare and corporate wellness services, has won a further new insourcing contract for the delivery of urology services to Saolta University Health Care Group in Ireland.

The additional contract, valued at £1.5m, will support an endoscopy waiting list initiative targeting the reduction of waiting lists in Ireland through the delivery of diagnostic colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy procedures between May 2023 and December 2023.

The further new contract follows the announcement from earlier in April of Totally's agreement with the Saolta to deliver urology services for the Irish hospital services provider.

Wendy Lawrence, CEO of Totally, commented: "No patient should have to wait excessively for diagnosis and treatment of conditions which, under normal circumstances, would be routine. Totally provides additional healthcare capacity to ensure that operating theatres and existing hospital infrastructure can be maximised to support as many patients as possible."

Totally has announced a £1.5m extension to its insourcing contract with Saolta, originally valued at £650k. The now £2.15m deal builds on a 2021 agreement for the delivery of endoscopy procedures across Saolta's 6 hospitals in west and northwest Ireland. Investors welcomed the news, pushing TLY shares up 3.70%.

Insourcing allows for efficient use of existing infrastructure by utilising premises and equipment when they are not otherwise in use. Totally will deliver all procedures for Saolta on weekends when hospital facilities are not in use, maximising the potential number of patients that can be seen.

In this way, Totally and Saolta aim to attack the problem of growing waiting lists that has plagued Ireland and the UK since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. More than 690,223 people were on waiting lists in Ireland at the end of December 2022, with almost 70% waiting longer than the Sláintecare maximum wait times.

This further contract with Saolta shows the significant opportunity for Totally and other insourcing providers to help tackle this significant healthcare challenge.
