VR Education (VRE) on Wednesday announced its latest VR showcase experience, 'Shuttle Commander', is launching on Sony PlayStation on Tuesday, 3 December 2019.
VR Education’s Shuttle Commander is a physics-based flight simulator experience, where users can take control of NASA's Discovery space shuttle and land it at various real-world landing sites like the Kennedy Space Centre, in an immersive virtual reality.
The VR showcase experience will retail at £21.99 in the UK, €24.99 in the EU and US$24.99 in the US.
David Whelan, CEO of VR Education, commented: “This new space title will provide significantly expanded and differentiated content while building on the enthusiasm generated by our Apollo 11 title, which to date has sold over 215,000 copies and continues to show strong sales each month.”

Mr. Whelan said: "Following on from our highly popular and award-winning experiences Apollo 11 VR, Titanic VR and 1943: Berlin Blitz, we are delighted to announce the release of our latest showcase title, Shuttle Commander, for PlayStation.”
He added: “The launch of Shuttle Commander further increases assets and content for our ENGAGE platform where educators and corporate trainers can create their own learning content."
Versarien said that Shuttle Commander players will be able to experience the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope from the cockpit of the Discovery space shuttle in a real-time launch experience, using original NASA cockpit audio and mission data.
