Luxury interior furnishings business, Walker Greenbank (AIM:WGB)  announced on Thursday that its Scion brand is collaborating with British retailer, NEXT.

The London-listed firm said the collaboration would see NEXT create and sell an extensive range of homeware, nursery and fashion items.

Launching in July this year, the company has said the range will be available both online at NEXT.CO.UK as well as in selected NEXT stores.

The collaboration is structured in part as a licensing deal and in part as a wholesale supply agreement between NEXT and Scion, Walker Greenbank's youthful Scandinavian-inspired design brand.

Shares in Walker Greenbank were trading 4.48% higher at 70p during Thursday trading.

The range will span four different design themes across a range of products from cushions and rugs to nightwear and fashion accessories and will include two nursery collections featuring Scion’s ‘Mr Fox’ and ‘Lintu’ designs.

"We are delighted to be working with NEXT and to be collaborating on our shared vision for the homewares market,” said Lisa Montague, Walker Greenbank's Chief Executive.

“Scion marks the first Walker Greenbank brand to jointly develop bespoke design solutions to appeal to NEXT consumers and we look forward to the commercial launch of the range in July this year,” she added.

In addition to Scion, the AIM-listed group’s brands include Zoffany, Sanderson, Morris & Co, Harlequin, Clarke & Clarke, where they generate licensing income from the use of its designs on products.

Last week, the company announced that its Clarke & Clarke brand would collaborate with TV personality Tess Daly to design a homeware collection which is set to launch this month.
