5. New Zealand's central bank has raised interest rates for the first time in seven years as it tries to contain rising inflation.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) increased its cash rate by a quarter of a percentage point to 0.5%.

4. Greggs said it was confident about future trading and would accelerate its store openings to 150 a year as part of an "ambitious" target to double turnover over next five years to about £2.4bn.

However it says recent trading has been affected by the nationwide labour shortages and disruption to supplies caused by HGV driver shortages and that the price of ingredients and supplies was rising.

3. Amazon is expanding its presence on the High Street by opening its first non-food store in the UK called Amazon 4-star, because every item has been given more than four stars by customers.

The shop, in the Bluewater shopping mall near Dartford, will sell around 2,000 of its most popular and best-rated products.

The government in Paris is angry that the UK granted 12 licences out of 47 bids for smaller vessels to fish in its territorial waters.
