Specialist insurance business Beazley Plc    has appointed Paul Bantick as an executive director, with effect from 1 January.
Beazley said on Wednesday that as group chief underwriting officer, Bantick has led strategic oversight of its "extensive specialist underwriting portfolio", ensuring alignment between "growth strategy and technical excellence".

The FTSE 100-listed group nnoted that Bantick previously served as the firm's group head of cyber risks and was appointed to Beazley's global executive committee in 2022.

Chairman Clive Bannister said: "My board colleagues and I are delighted to welcome Paul onto the board of Beazley plc. Paul's entrepreneurial spirit, deep underwriting experience and knowledge of the global insurance industry will complement and further strengthen the board, to help us fulfil our strategic ambitions."

As of 0830 GMT, Beazley shares were up 0.54% at 832.50p.
