Cellular Goods (CBX ) has announced today the filing of its first patent application related to cannabinoid-based skin brightening.
Conditions such as melasma and hyperpigmentation can result in uneven skin tones. Hormonal changes and sun exposure can have similar effects. Cosmetics solutions currently exist to help brighten or even out skin tones, however those usually come with side effects such as skin irritation and sensitivity.
Cellular Goods has sought to develop a product that is at least as effective as traditional solutions, but without the undesired side effects. The Company's research has found that using lab-made cannabinoids, specifically cannabigerol (CBG), can improve the effectiveness of certain active ingredients used in traditional skin brightening. The Company has filed its first patent application today related to these findings, and intends to expand in the future with new patents and new cannabinoid-based wellness solutions.
The company currently offers its CBG-based face serum that mitigates the effects of UV light exposure.
