Georgina Energy (GEX)  has announced further progress towards drilling at its Hussar EP513 project in Western Australia, placing an order for wellhead equipment and notifying Ensign regarding mobilisation of its contracted drilling rig.

The company confirmed that all civil engineering and site preparation works have been completed, with additional improvements to access infrastructure supporting the planned drilling programme.

Georgina has placed an order with specialist manufacturer Cactus Wellhead for equipment required for drilling at Hussar.

Georgina's consulting engineers and advisers, Aztech Well Construction and Ingenua, are assessing alternative routes for heavy equipment mobilisation, including access via Leonora, the Great Central Road and David Carnegie Highway.

While light vehicle access remains operational, weather-related road restrictions continue to affect heavy equipment movements. The company is working with contractors to facilitate safe rig mobilisation and will provide further updates on mobilisation arrangements and the revised drilling commencement date.

Meanwhile, security fencing has been installed around the Hussar wellsite and lined water storage pond to prevent wildlife entering the site, completing another element of the preparatory works.

Separately, Georgina has submitted formal applications for its proposed seismic programme to Western Australia's Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE).

The survey will use lightweight seismic equipment that does not require heavy vehicle access, minimising environmental disturbance. Fieldwork is expected to take about 30 days, subject to regulatory and Traditional Owner cultural heritage approvals.

The company is also finalising the seismic programme budget, with funding intended to come from Harlequin Energy.

Georgina Energy Chief Executive Officer Anthony Hamilton said: “The ordering of the wellhead equipment and preparations for mobilisation of the Ensign 970 rig represent an important milestone as we progress towards drilling. They follow the completion of all civil engineering and site preparation works at Hussar.

We continue to work closely with our contractors to progress the safe mobilisation of the Ensign 970 rig. Drilling Hussar and evaluating its significant helium, hydrogen and natural gas potential into a full field development remains our priority, and we look forward to providing further updates as mobilisation arrangements progress."

Georgina continues to advance preparations for drilling at Hussar, with wellhead procurement, completed site works and rig mobilisation arrangements bringing the project closer to its next operational milestone. Although weather-related access restrictions remain a challenge, ongoing infrastructure improvements and alternative transport routes should support mobilisation efforts. The proposed seismic programme offers a parallel opportunity to strengthen the project's geological understanding ahead of further exploration.
