Georgina Energy (GEX ) is set to start pre-drilling works at the Hussar Prospect in EP513 following formal drilling approval from Western Australia’s Department of Mining, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE).

The approval, granted to wholly owned subsidiary Westmarket Oil & Gas Pty Ltd, permits drilling at Hussar and allows the company to extract helium, hydrogen and natural gas.

It also enables Georgina to begin site infrastructure works, including access roads, a drilling pad and an airstrip, to facilitate mobilisation of a rig and support equipment.

“The formal drilling approval is the result of an intensive effort since December 2024 and we are looking forward to commencing the necessary pre-drilling works required,” said Georgina Energy’s Chief Executive Officer Anthony Hamilton.

“The Company can now proceed to extract Helium, Hydrogen and Natural Gas from the Hussar Prospect, one of the largest un-tested structures onshore in Australia.”

With the regulatory hurdle cleared, attention shifts to near-term site works and contracting. Successful mobilisation would set the timetable for drilling at a multi-commodity target spanning helium, hydrogen and natural gas.
