Gunsynd (GUN)has identified multiple high priority targets along the largely under-explored seven kilometre strike extent of the Eagle Gold project in Ontario, warranting a large follow-up geochemical survey and targeted drilling.
The company’s contractor, Critical Discoveries Ltd, is undertaking the field exploration program and leading the technical work at Eagle Gold. This includes historic data compilation, target generation, and drill-program planning.
Thirty-five historical assessment reports are being reviewed, and the available geophysical, geochemical and diamond-drill datasets are being digitised and combined to inform field design and permitting.
Consultation has also been initiated with relevant stakeholders as part of its permitting and project planning in recognition of the importance of early and ongoing engagement with the indigenous population. Feedback will be incorporated into the exploration plan and drill permit submission.
The next steps will be to complete the community consultation and to submit the exploration drill permit application to the Ontario Ministry of Mines.
Gunsynd will also design an upcoming exploration program, including finalising the drill plan and outlining the geochemical and geophysical surveys.
Gunsynd is farming into the Eagle Gold project. The farm-in agreement has not yet been concluded but it is anticipated this will occur shortly.
"We are pleased that the Eagle Gold Project will be advanced through focused data compilation, permitting preparations and early engagement with Eagle Lake First Nation,” said Hamish Harris, the chairman of Gunsynd.
“These steps position us to responsibly progress to field programs and, ultimately, testing the drill-ready highly prospective gold project."

Shares in Gunsynd are trading around 50% higher than the levels they were at a year ago, as the company has moved ahead with the development and enhancement of its investment and exploration portfolio. It’s helped that gold and other commodities prices have strengthened in the past 12 months, but Gunsynd has been able to be nimble in deal-making, and swift in getting exploration up and running. 2026 could be a year of significant progress.
