ATOME’s update on its attempts to find a solution to the power purchase agreement for Villeta shows a rather technical move to avoid liabilities under an earlier agreement. Otherwise, negotiations continue with the company continuing to work in good faith with both the power company and the government of Paraguay towards putting the project back on track. It remains potentially the largest single foreign investment in the history of Paraguay, creating over 4,000 jobs during construction and over 1,000 during operations.
