Made Tech (MTEC ) has been appointed by the Met Office as its Digital Service Partner under a 24-month contract and worth £7 million. Under the terms, Made Tech will support the Met Office to deliver "problem-solving digital, data and technology solutions, which enhance and expand the organisation's consumer-facing digital services offering, relied on by people across the globe", the Company said in a statement.

Made Tech is a provider of digital, data, and technology services to the UK public sector, currently operating in four UK locations (London, Manchester, Bristol and Swansea) with a staff of over 450. The contract will also see it expand its presence into the Southwest of the UK. The Met Office said Made Tech's proposal "[aligned] with the Met Office's vision for delivering exceptional digital services for our citizens."

Companies like Made Tech that modernise and streamline digital systems for public and private sector clients are well-positioned to benefit from large-scale growth in the digital services industry expected to occur this decade. The global SaaS (sofware-as-a-service) market alone was estimated at US$144.2 billion in 2021 and forecast to reach US$703.2 billion by 2030 according to a report by Allied Market Research.
