Shearwater Group (SWG) has secured a £7.3 million three-year contract extension with a leading British mobile network operator, strengthening the customer's data protection capabilities at a time of heightened cyber risk.

The deal has been awarded to group company Brookcourt Solutions and comprises about £6.1 million for Thales Imperva Data Security Fabric licences and about £1.2 million for Brookcourt's managed services. Around £3.5 million of the total value is expected to be recognised in FY26, supporting delivery of market expectations for the period.

The Thales Imperva Data Security Fabric will provide unified visibility, control and automation to protect sensitive data, prevent breaches and simplify compliance. In addition, Brookcourt's managed service will supply dedicated engineering expertise to bolster the customer's operational teams, focusing on advanced management of their data security platform.

This enhanced solution is designed to secure data across the customer's extensive and complex infrastructure, improving its overall security posture and helping to mitigate data security risks and compliance policy violations. The award also reflects Brookcourt's long-standing relationship with the customer and underlines continued confidence in Shearwater's ability to deliver critical data security, monitoring and protection services.

More broadly, the group highlighted that the increasing frequency, complexity and scale of cyber-security threats continue to fuel sector growth, with cybersecurity now a central priority in customer procurement decisions. Shearwater said it remains focused on converting its strong and expanding pipeline of opportunities.

Shearwater’s Chief Executive Officer Phil Higgins said: "This contract extension represents a strong validation of the value we deliver to major critical infrastructure organisations. Our continued partnership with this leading UK telecommunications provider underlines both the quality of our technology partners and the deep expertise within Brookcourt's managed services team. We are delighted to support the customer in strengthening their data protection capabilities over the next three years and view this contract as an important contributor to our long-term growth strategy."

This sizeable renewal with a blue-chip UK telecoms operator reinforces Shearwater's position in high-value, data-centric security projects. The revenue visibility over three years, including a meaningful contribution to FY26, should support confidence in forecasts while underlining the strategic role of Brookcourt's managed services alongside tier-one technology partners.
