Tekcapital, a UK intellectual property investment group, has announced that their investee company Guident is well on its way to finalising a contract with Auve Tech, an Estonian-based company specialising in driverless vehicles and autonomous systems.

Guident commercialises new technology to enhance the safety, efficiency and utility of autonomous vehicles and ground-based drones. Auve Tech and Guident are joining forces to bring an enhanced level of safety to self-driving technology, by combining Auve Tech's advanced Level 4 autonomous vehicles with Guident's innovative RMCC software. In addition, Guident's patented software provides human-in-the-loop supervision, adding an extra layer of security to the Auve Tech's new MiCa autonomous shuttle.

The Auve Tech autonomous shuttle is aimed at enhancing last-mile transportation offering alternative means of transport in geofenced areas and mixed-traffic environments, making it an ideal solution for safe, reliable, and sustainable transportation.

The companies' plan to launch the Auve Tech MiCa autonomous vehicle combined with Guident's RMCC software to customers in North America during the second half of 2023.

"The partnership between Guident and Auve Tech represents a step forward in creating safer, smart, and sustainable transportation solutions for communities. We are excited to see the launch of the new MiCa autonomous vehicle with Guident's RMCC software, which promises to deliver an added layer of safety and reliability in autonomous driving," said Harald Braun, Chairman & CEO of Guident Ltd.

Auve Tech’s launch of the MiCa autonomous shuttle in North America will provide a means for people to move freely, fast and efficiently, while also offering a sustainable transportation solution. Auve’s shuttles have already been welcomed by citizens and successfully deployed across many European locations, including Greece, Poland and Finland, reaching 30 deployments in total. With aims to meet net zero at the forefront of governments' minds across the globe, Auve Tech’s MiCa’s autonomous vehicles being electrically powered will no doubt be an attractive transportation solution to deploy across towns and cities.

The global autonomous last mile delivery market is predicted to expand at a CAGR of 19.15% during the forecasting years 2021-2028, and is projected to reach $41.74 billion by 2028. The use of automated last mile delivery vehicles has seen increased demand since the Covid-19 pandemic and is a key driver in the market’s rapid growth. Guident believes this increased demand will accelerate the roll-out of land-based delivery drones for pedestrians, food and medicines to improve their availability and reduce the costs of these deliveries.

Guident’s recent announcement of their plans to collaborate with Auve Tech further demonstrates the strength of Tekcapital’s investment portfolio. Upon the news this morning, Tekcapital saw shares increase to 5% in early trading. Make sure to follow Tekcaptial on Vox to keep up to date with the latest company news .
