Totally (TLY), a provider of frontline healthcare and corporate wellness services, has successfully secured contract extensions for several urgent care services in the North of England and the Midlands. The total value of these extensions amounts to approximately £12 million.
The contract extensions encompass a variety of urgent care services, such as NHS 111, GP Out of Hours (OOH), and Clinical Assessment Services (CAS) in locations including Staffordshire, Yorkshire, and Northumberland. The duration of these extensions ranges from six to twelve months, and provide a solid foundation for revenue projections in the upcoming year.
Wendy Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer of Totally said: We have been providing NHS 111, GP OOH and CAS services across Staffordshire and the North East for more than 10 years and I am delighted that we can continue to deliver these essential services. Contract extensions make an important contribution to future revenue by securing the continuation of existing contracts beyond their original term. This demonstrates the strength of our relationships with commissioners and the quality of services we deliver."

Totally is well-aligned to help the NHS execute its 2023 delivery plan for recovering urgent and emergency care services, which central aims are to increase hospital bed and ambulance capacity, alongside helping patients to access the right care the first time.
The ambitions laid out in the delivery plan, if executed, would represent one of the fastest and longest sustained improvements in emergency waiting times in the NHS’s history, with NHS 111, GP OOH and Clinical Assessment Services are all instrumental in addressing the aims outlined in the delivery plan.
With regards to NHS 111, the delivery plan emphasises the importance of this service and commits to making better use of clinicians to direct patients to the most appropriate form of care, with Totally’s services well-aligned to meet this objective.
The focus on NHS 111 calls in 2023 comes after an unprecedented winter season in 2022, with the NHS receiving 700,000 calls within a single week in December, a 60% rise compared to the previous week. Except for the first two weeks of the Covid pandemic, this was the highest number of 111 calls ever recorded, according to NHS England.
With this in mind, the contract extensions for several urgent care services are timed well, helping the NHS get its emergency care services back on track while underpinning Totally’s revenue expectations for the year ahead.
Overall, Totally is well-placed to provide the NHS with high-quality healthcare services for both urgent and elective care, continuing to improve healthcare outcomes for patients across the UK.
