Motor Development contract for Electric Aircraft Equipmake Holdings (EQIP ASE) EQIP is a UK-based technology company which designs and produces high performance electric motors, inverter, control software, battery management, and pack technology. In aerospace, EQIP and Switzerland-based aerospace company H55 have been partnering on production-ready, certified Electric Propulsion System (EPS), with the Company supplying its lightweight, power dense, high-performance state-of-the art electric motors for use in electric aircraft. The Company has today announced that it has been awarded an initial contract for £0.7m for the development of an electric motor based on H55 specifications. H55 intends to initially commercialise a 100kW fully certified EPS for its customer project with BRM AERO, on a two-seater electric trainer, the Bristell B23 Energic aircraft. Certification is planned for end of 2024 with production expected to commence in 2025.
