London-listed Alien Metals (AIM:UFO) informed investors that it will soon commence a ground-based induced polarisation survey at its Donovan 2 copper-gold project following a site visit to the prospect in Mexico.
Bill Brodie Good, Technical Director of Alien Metals said discussions were already underway and that drilling companies were to carry out follow up work.
The exploration firm said a ‘successful’ site visit had instilled further confidence in the copper-gold project which contains a prospective Volcanic Massive Sulphide ('VMS') target.
Surface float samples bearing copper and sulphide were located during the visit, sourced from a hand-dug water well which the company believes originated from the well.
Brodie Good said the samples demonstrated “excellent” content further supporting Donovan 2 as a highly prospective target.
Shares in Alien Metals were trading 12.82% higher at 0.22p on Thursday at midday.
Whilst in Mexico, Alien’s technical team carried out further reviews of the company’s other Mexican assets, as well as holding meetings with potential JV partners in the country.
The company said that site visits reconfirmed the exploration and development potential of the group’s Los Campos and San Celso silver projects.
Plans for detailed drill programmes for both sites have now been finalised, the statement added, with San Celso in particular offering ‘great potential’ to contain an economic silver resource.
"I had an excellent trip to Mexico where I not only gained a better understanding of the Company's projects, but also of the exploration and mining mentality, and capacity, of the Zacatecas region,” added Brodie Good.
