Ascent joined AIM in 2004 and previously focused on developing the Petišovci tight gas project in Slovenia. Production began in 2017, but project optimisation was derailed by governmental issues. Subsequently, Slovenia changed its law banning fracking. The company is suing the Slovenian government under the ECT, is represented by lawyers Enyo Law, on a no-win, no-fee basis. In recent years, Ascent has explored various new growth opportunities and has now finally positioned itself to benefit from the increasing demand for helium and natural gas in the USA.
