Talon Resources has released an update on exploration progress at the Eagle Lake project in Canada, a project in which Gunsynd PLC (GUN ) holds a 10% interest, via its stake in Wedgetail Mining Corp.
Talon’s phase 1 exploration programme Eagle Lake has confirmed gold mineralisation across multiple priority targets.
Drilling on these targets is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Among the highlights from channel sampling were 1.85 metres grading 7.17grams per tonne gold, 4.80 metres grading 4.47 grams, 5.7 metres grading 1.26 grams, and 10.1 metres at 0.57 grams.
The best grab sample returned 32.9 grams per tonne from the Parker Shear target.
Eagle Lake hosts multiple known gold-bearing zones identified through historical exploration, including surface sample results of up to 204 grams per tonne gold.
While these results demonstrate the presence of high-grade gold mineralisation, the project remains relatively underexplored and is now being systematically advanced through Talon's exploration programme.
In total, eight channels were completed across four locations, generating 57 channel samples over 46.45 metres, together with six grab samples. Visible gold was noted at the Fornieri Bay, Cedar Trench and Moss Knoll targets, and subsequently confirmed by fire assay.
The programme confirmed gold mineralisation across multiple priority target areas and strengthened the Company's geological understanding ahead of its maiden drilling campaign.
The programme also identified a previously unrecognised mineralised outcrop, named Moss Knoll, between Fornieri Bay and Cedar Trench. The outcrop displays geological characteristics similar to those observed at Parker Shear and is interpreted to lie along the same mineralised trend, representing a new exploration target.

It looks like there could be big upside for Gunsynd at Eagle Lake, although with Talon making the running here, the company is free to concentrate on the highly prospective Barb project, which has also been generating positive data recently. Drilling at Eagle Lake later this year could be a significant milestone.
