hVIVO (HVO)  has appointed Non-Executive Director Richard Cotton as Interim CFO as current finance chief Stephen Pinkerton prepares to retire after 10 years with the company.

Pinkerton will remain in post until 30 September 2026, after which Cotton will take over on an interim basis while the company completes its search for a permanent successor. The board said the process is in its final stages and expects to make a further announcement in due course.

Cotton has previously served as CFO of several listed life sciences businesses, including FTSE 150 animal health company Dechra Pharmaceuticals plc and medical device and drug formulation business Consort Medical plc. hVIVO said his CFO experience and existing knowledge of the group would provide continuity during the transition.

hVIVO Chief Executive Officer Yamin 'Mo' Khan said: “I would like to thank Stephen for his exceptional commitment and contribution to hVIVO over the past decade. During that time, he has played an important role in hVIVO's evolution, including supporting the acquisitions of CRS and Cryostore, strengthening the Group's financial foundations and helping position the business for its next phase of growth. On behalf of the Board and everyone at hVIVO, I thank him for his service and wish him every success for the future.”

The planned CFO transition appears well managed, with Cotton's experience and familiarity with hVIVO providing continuity while the search for a permanent successor concludes. With the process already in its final stages, the change should have limited impact on the company's ongoing operations.
