London-listed Inspiration Healthcare (IHC)  received a “sizeable” order from the Sri Lakan Ministry of Health to supply fifteen of its diagnostic workstations for newborns.

The global medical technology company said its workstations are used for diagnosing Hypoxic-Ischaemic Encephalopathy, a brain injury induced by oxygen deprivation to the brain in the newborn.

The workstations comprise of Unique+ CFM, a cerebral function monitor for diagnosing brain injury, and, the Tecotherm Neo, used to cool and warm babies who have suffered from a lack of oxygen at the time of birth, the statement detailed.

Shares in Inspiration Healthcare were trading flat at 67p on Monday afternoon.

Neil Campbell, Inspiration Healthcare's Chief Executive said the order meant an “ever-growing presence” for the company across international markets.

“It also demonstrates clearly the quality of our products and our International distribution partners who are opening up these new opportunities,” he added.

The global market for foetal and neonatal medical equipment is estimated to reach a total $11.86 billion by 2022, the group highlighted within its 2019 annual report.
