Panther Metals (PALM) has appointed Extrakt Process Solutions to conduct phased metallurgical testwork for the recovery of metals from the Winston tailings project in Ontario, Canada.
The testwork will be conducted in association with TDI Solutions, an independent laboratory authorised and equipped to implement Extrakt’s innovative hydrometallurgical extraction technology.
The results of this work and the studies generated will be part of the Application for Recovery of Minerals Permit process, which Panther initiated in September 2025.
The Phase 1 metallurgical characterisation and testwork will be conducted on representative composite samples of tailings material obtained from the recent resource drilling programme.
The Phase 1 work is designed to generate baseline data which will guide and support the design of subsequent testwork phases to determine the recoveries rates for gold, gallium, indium, silver, zinc, copper and cobalt and any other recoverable metals from the Winston Lake tailings.
The Phase 1 metallurgical results will also support the Reasonable Prospects of Eventual Economic Extraction requirement for the planned resource estimate being conducted by the SRK Group.
"We are delighted to have the opportunity to appoint Extrakt Process Solutions who are pioneering advanced non-cyanide mineral processing technologies to recover metals from tailings in an environmentally sustainable manner," said Darren Hazelwood, chief executive of Panther Metals.

The ongoing resource estimate work and the Extrakt metallurgical testwork are integral workstreams designed to advance the Winston tailings project through permitting towards a cashflow proposition. It’s an ambitious project, but one that could pay off big-time for Panther shareholders. Watch for plenty of newsflow as the various work programmes accelerate.
