Quantum Data Energy (QDE)  has brought its 7.5 MW Hindlip flexible generation power project into commercial operations, with the asset now generating and trading electricity in the UK wholesale market.

Hindlip was developed in partnership with Powertree and is fully funded. Construction was completed within the previously stated timeline and budget, with the project now operational following the finalisation of its operations and maintenance arrangements.

The asset is QDE’s second operational flexible generation project, alongside its 100%-owned 8.1 MW Pyebridge asset.

QDE’s third flexgen project, Bordesley, remains under construction, with completion and commercial operations expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.

QDE CEO Pieter Krügel said: "We are delighted that Hindlip has entered commercial operations, becoming our second operational flexible generation asset, delivered in line with our March timeline and below budget. We look forward to updating the market on Hindlip's operational performance in due course. Hindlip is a further step in implementing our strategy to build a portfolio of 300+ MW of flexible generation assets."

Hindlip adds another operational asset to QDE’s growing UK flexgen portfolio, with Bordesley expected to follow before the end of the year. The focus now shifts from construction delivery to demonstrating operational performance and building out the wider 300+ MW portfolio.
