Seeing Machines (SEE) has signed an agreement, based on an initial purchase of over $1.5 million, to supply its Guardian Backup-driver Monitoring System (BdMS) to a “leading” North American self-driving car company.
The volume of this initial purchase indicates the technology with be installed into a large portion of the self-driving car company’s fleet in the next few months. The deal also includes an option for follow-on purchases.

Guardian BdMS integrates Seeing Machines’ automotive-grade driver monitoring technology, FOVIO, in “ a convenient retrofit system for semi- and fully-automated vehicles,” to ensure even drivers in a self-driving vehicle remain alert.
