Micky Arison

Chairman

Micky Arison grew up in the cruise business and spent the better part of two decades learning it from the ground up before being appointed chairman in 1990. Mr. Arison began in the sales department at Carnival Cruise Lines and worked his way up becoming reservations manager in 1974. He became vice president of passenger traffic in 1976, and just three years later, Mr. Arison was named president. In 1987, Carnival went public, raising $400 million for future expansion, and by early 1989, Mr. Arison engineered the acquisition of the venerable Holland America Line. The purchase also included Windstar Cruises and Westours (now Holland America Princess Tours), a leading Alaska tour operator, giving Carnival entrée to the premium segment of the cruise industry. Over the next several years, Carnival Corporation acquired brands in various other markets including ultra-luxury Cunard Line and Seabourn Cruise Line, as well as contemporary European operator Costa Cruises, the region’s number one cruise line. In April 2003, Mr. Arison spearheaded the transaction combining Carnival Corporation’s six cruise operators with the brands of P&O Princess Cruises, creating a truly global cruise operator with the leading cruise brands in both North America and Europe. Mr. Arison’s contributions to the cruise industry have been recognized worldwide. Some of his honors include being named “Officer of the French Legion of Honor” – the country’s highest civilian honor – by then French President Jacques Chirac, as well as receiving the insignia of “Onorificenza al Merito della Repubblica Italiana” by the president of Italy, which confers that country\'s highest title on a civilian. Mr. Arison has been chairman of the board of directors since 1990 and a director since 1987. He became a director and chairman of the board of directors of Carnival plc in April 2003. He was Chief Executive Officer of Carnival Corporation from 1979 to July 2013 and was Chief Executive Officer of Carnival plc from 2003 to July 2013.

Arnold W. Donald

Chief Executive Officer

Arnold W. Donald has been a director of Carnival Corporation since 2001 and a director of Carnival plc since 2003. Mr. Donald has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Carnival Corporation & plc since July 2013. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Executive Leadership Council, a professional network of African-American executives of major U.S. companies, from 2010 to June 2012. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International from 2006 to 2008. From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Donald was the Chairman of the Board of Merisant Company, a manufacturer and marketer of tabletop sweetener products, including the Equal® and Canderel® brands. From 2000 to 2003, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Merisant Company. From 1998 to 2000, he was Senior Vice-President of Monsanto Company, a company which develops agricultural products and consumer goods, and President of its nutrition and consumer sector. Prior to that, he was President of Monsanto Company\'s agricultural sector. He has been a member of the boards of directors of Bank of America Corporation since January 2013 and Crown Holdings, Inc. since July 1999. He was a member of the board of The Laclede Group, Inc. from January 2003 to January 2014, Oil-Dri Corporation of America from December 1997 to January 2013 and The Scotts Company from March 2000 to January 2009.

David Bernstein

Chief financial officer

David Bernstein has been chief financial officer for Carnival Corporation & plc since 2007. In this capacity, Bernstein oversees all accounting, planning, treasury, insurance, tax and investor relations functions, as well as global casino operations. Bernstein joined the Corporate organization as vice president and treasurer in July 2003 after serving as chief financial officer of the company’s Cunard and Seabourn operating unit for five years. Prior to joining Carnival Corporation & plc, he spent seven years at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. where he held various financial posts, including assistant treasurer, assistant controller and director of corporate planning. Bernstein received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1983.

Alan Buckelew

Alan Buckelew has been chief operations officer of Carnival Corporation & plc since December 2013. In this capacity, Buckelew is responsible for oversight of all maritime and port operations around the world and group collaborative functions, including information technology; group strategy and global operations; ship retrofits; newbuilds; research and development; risk advisory; and quality assurance. Additionally, Buckelew has oversight of Carnival Asia, with responsibility for coordinating all our brand and related activities in that part of the world. Previously, he served as chief executive officer of Princess Cruises from 2007 to November 2013, and as the line’s president from 2004 to November 2013. Prior to that he was executive vice president of corporate services from 2000 to 2007. Buckelew also served as chief operating officer of Cunard from 2004 to 2007.Before being appointed president of Princess Cruises, Buckelew was the company’s executive vice president of corporate services, a position he was appointed to in 2000. Responsible for strategic planning, marketing and yield management, he also served as chief information officer and chief financial officer. Buckelew began his career as manager of management information for Sitmar Cruises in 1977. Rising through the ranks of the company with increasing responsibility for a wide array of areas, Buckelew was appointed senior vice president of corporate planning in 1984. When Sitmar was acquired by Princess Cruises, he was placed in charge of the company’s reservations and data processing departments. During his career at Princess, he has held the positions of senior vice president of corporate services, senior vice president of customer service, and senior vice president of corporate services and yield management. Buckelew received his MBA and bachelor’s degree from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA).

Julia M. Brown

Chief Procurement Officer

In March of 2015, Carnival Corporation & plc named Julia M. Brown to the newly created role of Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) overseeing strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management. As part of this new role, Brown works closely with the company\'s ten brands and their support groups to strategically procure goods and services to further strengthen the company\'s supplier relationships and leverage its global scale. Brown most recently served as Chief Procurement Officer & Senior Vice President of Global Procurement for Mondelēz International and with Kraft as Chief Procurement Officer & Senior Vice President of Global Procurement. Brown began her career in procurement at Procter & Gamble in Toronto, Canada and has worked for numerous global companies including Clorox, Diageo and Gillette. Brown holds an honors Bachelor\'s of Commerce degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Vice Admiral William Burke

Chief Maritime Officer

William Burke, retired Vice Admiral, joined Carnival Corporation & plc in December of 2013, as the Chief Maritime Officer, where he heads the Maritime Policy Department, which is responsible for driving the company’s commitment to safety. A native of Hornell, N.Y., Burke graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering and completed a Master of Business Administration at Marymount University. He earned a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy at the National War College in Washington, D.C. and is also a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar 21 Program in International Politics. Burke served on five submarines including command of USS Toledo (SSN 769). He commanded Submarine Squadron Two from July 2001 to July 2003. His Washington D.C. assignments include tours in the Attack Submarine Division, Navy Office of Legislative Affairs, Joint Chiefs of Staff directorate for Combating Terrorism, Navy Warfighting Assessments Branch, and as the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chief of Naval Operations. Burke’s flag assignments include Commander, Logistics Group Western Pacific/Commander, Task Force 73/Commander Navy Region Singapore; Director, Assessment Division, Director, Quadrennial Defense Review, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Fleet Readiness and Logistics, and Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Warfare Systems.

Larry Freedman

Chief Accounting Officer and Controller

Larry Freedman, joined Carnival Corporation & plc in April 1998 as Controller, and, in July 2007, he was named Chief Accounting Officer. Freedman is responsible for the company’s corporate-wide U.S. GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards accounting and financial reporting. Prior to joining Carnival, Freedman spent three years overseeing the financial operations of Puradyn Filter Technologies, Inc., a Boynton Beach, Fla.-based public company. Prior to then, he spent 21 years with the South Florida office of Ernst & Young and its predecessor Arthur Young & Company and was admitted to the firm’s partnership in 1986. Freedman graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1973. He is a Florida certified public accountant.

Roger Frizzell

Roger Frizzell joined Carnival Corporation & plc as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Chief Communications Officer on June 24, 2013. Frizzell serves as Carnival Corporation’s chief communications officer, handling all corporate-level communications and public relations activities for the world\'s largest cruise company, which is the parent company of ten global cruise lines providing extraordinary vacations at exceptional value for millions of people around the world. He has responsibility for corporation’s local, state and federal governmental relations and the Carnival Foundation. Frizzell reports to Arnold W. Donald, President & Chief Executive Officer for Carnival Corporation. Prior to Carnival Corporation, Frizzell was vice president of corporate communications and chief communications officer for Pacific Gas & Electric in San Francisco. During the course of his 30-year career, Frizzell has served as Vice President of Corporate Communications & Advertising at American Airlines for nearly a decade, and has held high-level communications positions at Hewlett-Packard, Lucent Technologies and AT&T. He also played a leading communications role in the successful effort to keep wrestling in the Olympics. Frizzell and his teams have won more than 150 awards, including the National Golden Quill Award from the International Association of Business Communicators and PR Week’s Corporate Public Relations Team of the Year. Frizzell was inducted into the PR News Hall of Fame in 2011 and named by the Holmes Report as one of the top chief communications officers in the public relations industry. Frizzell is a Distinguished Alumni at the University of Oklahoma, where he was a four-time NCAA All-American in wrestling and an Academic All-American. He is married and has five children.

Josh Leibowits

Chief Strategy Officer

In October 2013, Josh Leibowitz joined as Chief Strategy Officer where he oversees cross-brand activities to set and deliver the company’s strategy including: guest insights, revenue management and science innovation, coordinated deployment planning, and strategic sourcing. Leibowitz joined Carnival Corporation from the consulting firm McKinsey & Co., where he served as its managing partner of the Miami office and a leader in the firm’s work in big data and digital sales and marketing.

Jerry Montgomery

Chief Human Resources Officer

Jerry Montgomery joined Carnival Corporation & plc in March of 2011, as Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, he is responsible for developing and implementing corporate human resource management strategies across our worldwide organization, which includes offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Prior to joining Carnival Corporation & plc, Montgomery was the president and founder of the Orlando Strategy Group, a consulting firm focused on labor relations, human resources, corporate social responsibility and sustainability programs. Prior to founding the Orlando Strategy Group, Montgomery served The Walt Disney Company throughout a 30 year career in progressive human resources, public affairs, and corporate social responsibility roles. He is an active volunteer and community contributor and served as the vice chairman of the Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District, appointed by Governor Charlie Crist. He presently is the Chairman of the Florida Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. He graduated from Harvard with his Bachelors of Arts degree, and earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College.

Arnaldo Perez

General Counsel and Secretary

Arnaldo Perez joined Carnival Corporation in July 1992 as assistant general counsel. He was promoted to acting general counsel and secretary of Carnival Corporation in 1995 and in 1996 he was named general counsel, responsible for the legal affairs of Carnival Corporation & plc. Prior to joining Carnival, Perez was a partner at Weil, Lucio, Mandler, Croland & Steele of Miami. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Miami in 1982 and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Columbia University in 1985.

David Dingle

Chairman UK

David Dingle was appointed Chairman of Carnival UK in October 2014. In this capacity, he has full operating responsibility for the UK-based brands P&O Cruises and Cunard. Prior to this, he served as CEO of Carnival UK from June 2007 to September 2014. Dingle joined P&O Cruises (UK) in 1978 where, after holding a series of commercial positions, he became managing director in 2000. At the time of the merger of P&O Princess Cruises plc and the Carnival Corporation in April 2003, he became managing director of Carnival UK. Dingle is past chairman of The UK Chamber of Shipping and the European Cruise Council and continues to serve on the boards of both groups. In 2009, he joined the board of the European Community Shipowners Association. He has previously served as a director of the Association of British Travel Agents and The UK Passenger Shipping Association. He is a Younger Brother of Trinity House and was awarded a CBE in the 2009 New Year’s Honours. Dingle attended Jesus College, Cambridge, where he attained a Master of Arts in Classics.

David Noyes

Chief Executive Officer UK

David Noyes was appointed CEO of Carnival UK in October 2014, with full operating responsibility for the UK-based brands Cunard Line and P&O Cruises. Prior to that, he held the post of Executive Vice President Operations since joining the company in April 2011. Prior to joining Carnival UK, Mr. Noyes was Chief Executive of Gray Dawes, an independent business travel management company, where he was responsible for successfully implementing a turn round of the business. He spent 20 years of his career with British Airways holding various senior positions, on the Commercial side heading up BA’s sales and marketing in both the USA and UK: on the Operational side as Director Customer Services, heading up BA’s operation at Heathrow and leading BA’s successful Terminal 5 transformational programme called “Fit for Five”. Mr. Noyes also served as chairman of BA’s subsidiary regional airlines, Brymon and Cityflyer.
